Progression

By Heron Demarco

Change is the watchword of progression”

-Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Yesterday was MLK day. It is the day that marks a period in time when the wheels of progression were forced into motion. Please be clear, this progression could not have taken place if a few people weren’t passionate about change, equality and innovation.

Today is inauguration day, and we have seen the result of someone’s sacrifice take center stage. From the ashes of pain comes triumph, not perfection, but indeed progression. An example that if we take control of our lives, believe in our dreams and set the wheels of progression into motion, then all things are indeed possible.

I do so hope that you have been progressing with your goals for this year thus far, and you have opted to make your wishes a reality.  Dreams can only set the tone for what is obtainable. It is the prelude to our true selves and an introduction to our emotional and spiritual wealth.

Yet it is only through action, passion, faith and self-realization that you will stand a chance of bringing your wants into fruition. Therefore..

GET UP! MAKE IT WORK IT!  IF YOU CAN’T FIND A WAY…MAKE A WAY! SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN YOUR VISION AND NEVER MIND THOSE WHO OPT TO THROW YOU INTO A STATE OF CONFUSION. THEM FOLKS IS JUST DOIN’ THEY JOB..lol

The guys and I are almost finished with our debut album, and we are excited as all hell about it. We know the road will be paved with obstacles, and people who wish to see us fall flat on our faces, but it will also be paved with people who wish to see us succeed such as yourself, and those are the people we’re fighting for because they’ve been fighting for us.

We will not falter, and we will not let you down. For your voice has become our voice, and you have proven that we share the same enthusiasm for advancement, and individuality. On that note please continue to push forward with your lives. Love, live and knock down every stone that stands between you and your spiritual wealth

Heron’s: Top 5 moments that changed my life

Number 5: Nas’s Halftime from the album Illmatic

By Heron Demarco

I thought I had a decent understanding of emceeing before this guy came around. After I heard him for the first time I realized I was absolutely clueless. I can say without a shadow of doubt that had this man not created Illmatic I probably would not be the emcee I am today. That’s just real talk. I was a kid when he debuted and he was like nothing I’ve ever seen before him.

As a matter of fact he was like nothing the world has ever seen before him. Although he’s not as popular as he once was for whatever reason, I’m not here to debate that topic, I’m just hear to pay my respects to the man who brought back New York hip hop in the 90’s, and made me burn my book and start from scratch!

Here’s to Nas before he dropped the Nasty.

Who the fuck is Silent Disorder?! Part 1

From: Heron Demarco

In the deepest crevices of their minds, I think the question a lot of people ask themselves when hearing our name for the first time is “Who the fuck is Silent Disorder?” or ”What the fuck is a Silent Disorder?” Good Question! Bare with us for at times we’re still trying to figure it out ourselves..lol Just jokes. We are quite clear of who we are, what we stand for and were we’re headed.

For those who are unaware of our history(and for everyone who needs a recap). We’re a hip hop/rock band hailing from NY that sounds a lot like Metallica getting into a slug fest with Linken Park while Jimi Hendrix referees. Ummmm…yeah that’s it!! Our name is a symbol for opposites coming together to create a sensible whole, and the importance of it. Light/Dark, Chaos/Order…etc.

We are in the midst of wrapping up recording of our new debut EP Everything Burns, and it should be due out in March.

Aside from that we’re just a trio of musicians who are passionate about not only our music, but the concept of expression, breaking rules, throwing people’s perceptions in the toilet and making sure it winds up with rest of yesterday’s shit! Fuck perceptions and so called ideals. They often stunt your growth and are the prelude to a lifetime of blind conformity. DO YOU!

With that being said welcome to our blog IN DISORDER WE TRUST. For we believe there are times in one’s life when getting a little crazy, and thinking outside of the box, is a lot more sensible than living a life that was created for you by someone else.

This blog is about letting you guys into our world. Learning about our likes, dislikes, etc. You’ll learn more about what makes us tick, our causes and our beliefs. You’ll also learn that the guys and I aren’t just a bunch of dudes making music. We’re also a band of brothers out to change minds one thought at a time.

First off I’ll let you know a little more about me, Heron Demarco. I’m the emcee and guitarist of the band. I’m a Leo who loves heavy metal, hip hop, r and b, hot chicks ( all kinds), vodka shots, heavy guitars, line 6 gear, Afro Samurai, comic books, comedies, sci-fi flicks, grimey break beats. I’m known to be a joker and I try to inject passion and discipline into whatever I do. and a bunch of other stuff that I’ll get into in the next few months.

But above all else I love music and art, and connecting messages to people who enjoy our music. Joy, pain, laughter, lust, love, hate and the things that make life interesting, I try hard to inject into my lyrics.

My mind lives within the cracks of sound, on the surface of reality, and dances on the thin line between chaos and order. I started the band Silent Disorder in hope of bringing a fresh approach to the hip hop genre, and in some sense the rock genre as well.

My experience with the guys making music has been rewarding and I love my position in the band. I usually handle most of the composition, the production, and arranging, but I like hearing the guys ideas as well. I’m all about doing whatever it takes to make a solid song. The recording process is a fuckin’ rush for me, and I look forward to each of our sessions!

John and Cabes are a very important element to the Silent Disorder experience and I’m extremely excited about the smoke we’ll be creating in the future. Stay Tuned.
